Septaria Plate.
Origin: Utah (USA)
Size: between 12 and 15 cm approx.
These marvellous Septaria plates are mined in Orderville, Utah (USA).
It is found in the form of nodules, located between 6 and 24 metres deep. Only 20% of these nodules contain the characteristic Septaria.
They are approximately 100 million years old. Cretaceous age.
The composition is Calcite or Baryte (yellow centre), Aragonite (brown-lined zones) and Limestone (the outer part).
