Brochantite is a hydrated copper sulphate mineral distinguished by its intense emerald green or dark green colour. It usually forms in areas of oxidation of copper deposits in arid climates, commonly appearing in the form of acicular aggregates, fibrous crusts or very bright prismatic crystals, making it a highly prized species in mineralogical systematics.
