Rough amazonite from Brazil.
The amazonite is the lacking variety of microcline, a feldspar mineral. During some time it has been considered that its colour was because of the copper, because the components of the cooper are green and blue. However, some other theories consider that the colour is because of small quantities of lead and water.
The name comes from the Amazone River.
