Pieces of Fossil Wood. One polished side. In 6x6cm boxes.
Xylopalo, or fossilised wood, is formed when the organic part of ancient trees is replaced by quartz, resulting in this original and exotic form that looks like a normal tree trunk but has the hardness and resistance of quartz.
It occurs in geological areas where fallen trees are in an environment with very little oxygen. This preserves the original shape and structure of the tree. The organic part, due to its composition and pressure from the ground, among other things, results in these specimens.
Size: approx. 4 to 6 cm.
